    Readers can change the font size, the margins and the background colour, so an ebook has to survive being reflowed in ways you cannot predict. That means clean markup, proper chapter navigation, sensibly sized images and no hard-coded line breaks. Files with these problems pass upload checks but read badly.
    We build from your edited manuscript, add a linked table of contents, validate the EPUB and check it in several reading apps. Then we write the store description and choose categories and keywords, since those decide whether anyone finds the book.

    EPUB is the standard for most retailers. Amazon converts EPUB files for Kindle, and we test the result in Amazon’s previewer.
    KDP Select offers extra promotion tools and Kindle Unlimited income in return for 90 days of exclusivity. It suits some authors and not others, and we outline the trade-offs for your book.
    Many authors price fiction between $2.99 and $4.99, and non-fiction higher. On Amazon, prices from $2.99 to $9.99 qualify for the 70% royalty. We help you choose based on comparable titles.
    Fixed-layout ebooks preserve page design and are used for picture books, comics and cookbooks. For text-led books, reflowable is better.
    Digital rights management restricts copying but can frustrate legitimate readers. Many independent authors turn it off, and some retailers let you choose. We set it according to your preference.
    Yes, from Word, InDesign or PDF source files. If you only have a PDF, conversion costs more because the text must be extracted and cleaned.
    A front cover only, as an RGB image of about 1600 × 2560 pixels, that still reads clearly at thumbnail size.
    Most stores approve new listings within 72 hours. Apple and Kobo can take a little longer, and pre-orders need a few weeks’ notice.
