About This Service
Independent publishing is a project, and projects need a plan
Self-publishing means you are the publisher, with all that implies. You commission the edit, the cover and the typesetting, buy the ISBN, write the description, choose categories and keywords, and decide on price. None of it is difficult, but the order matters, and mistakes made early are expensive to undo once copies exist.
We sit alongside you as a production team. Everything is registered in your name, so if you ever part company with us, nothing about your book is held hostage.
ISBN and barcode set up in your name
Amazon KDP and wide distribution (for example IngramSpark)

Print and digital reach
Your book listed on the stores your readers already use.
KDP is Amazon’s own platform and is simple to use. IngramSpark distributes to bookshops, libraries and other retailers worldwide, but has its own fees and return policies. Many authors use both, and we explain the trade-offs for your book.
For print books sold beyond Amazon, yes. Amazon will supply a free ISBN for KDP print books, but it lists Amazon as the publisher of record and ties that number to their platform. Owning your own is usually worth it.
In the UK, ISBNs come from Nielsen. In the United States they come from Bowker. Prices vary, and buying ten at once is usually far cheaper per number than buying one.
UK law requires publishers of printed books to send a copy to the British Library within a month of publication, and the other deposit libraries can request copies. We explain what applies to your book.
That depends on the list price, the printing cost and the retailer’s share. At the time of writing, Amazon pays 70% on many ebook sales and 60% of the list price on print, less printing costs, but terms change, so check the current figures.
From a finished manuscript, two to six months is typical, mostly spent on editing and design. The administrative set-up itself takes a couple of weeks.
Yes. Uploaded files can be replaced, and corrections usually go live within a few days. Changing the title, subtitle or author name after publication is more disruptive, so settle those first.
